Cappadocia, which is filled with numerous legends and never-ending wonders, has one of its enchanting corners known as Devrent Valley. This valley is also referred to as the “Imagination Valley.” Unlike other valleys, it does not contain churches, Roman tombs, or carved settlements. This sets it apart from the rest. In a process spanning 50 million years, Cappadocia existed as a vast inland sea. Due to the eruptions of the surrounding volcanoes and the heat they emitted, this sea dried up, and the cooled lavas took its place. Over time, various natural events such as strong winds and flowing streams shaped these cooled lavas. Thus, the distinctive fairy chimneys emerged, altering the landscape. Deep valleys filled with soft rocks were also formed in this way.
