The history of Nevsehir castle dates back to the ancient Roman period. It is known as a castle built to protect the old Roman road and the silk road. In 1726, the area around Nevsehir castle, which was a small village during the time of Nevşehirli Grand Vizier Damat İbrahim Pasha, was elevated to city status with the name Nevsehir.
In order to further expand this residential area, which was a city during the reign of Damat Ibrahim Pasha, Kurşunlu Mosque and residential and residential areas such as a soup kitchen, a madrasa and a hama were built around it.
